"If you've worked in sales, you know that you're not the hero, it's your client and that you are the guide. So you get to be Yoda to their Luke Skywalker. But there's also several different types of hero. On the back of the card, you might be the explorer, the sage, the muse, the rebel, the defender, the warrior. So many great ideas."

Hi, I'm Beth Lambert and I'm a video creator based in Chicago and I work with veterinarians and other professionals in the animal care industry.
Making videos is a whole lot of fun, but sometimes the hardest part is coming up with an idea and that's why I love to use my Storyteller Tactics Pip Decks for my ideas and even to help out my clients.
So first of all, one of the cards gives some really great story hooks because if you don't hook your audience in the first few seconds, they're going to scroll right by.
We also have some different types of stories that they share, man in a hole so that you're able to talk about the time you got out of your comfort zone. There is a trigger, you're in a crisis, then there's recovery, and you're finally in a better place. This would be a really great example to use for dog training.
We have your drive, your why you do what you do. I chose to work with veterinarians because I learned about the mental health risk. Did you know that one in six veterinarians contemplate suicide? Because I know that it makes it easier for me to connect with my audience and to let them know I really care about them and I understand their troubles.
Some others that I really enjoy are hero and guide. If you've worked in sales, you know that you're not the hero, it's your client and that you are the guide. So you get to be Yoda to their Luke Skywalker.
But there's also several different types of hero. On the back of the card, you might be the explorer, the sage, the muse, the rebel, the defender, the warrior. So many great ideas.
And I could come up with dozens of stories just from this card. That's funny. Well, it's not just haha funny. It could also be funny, peculiar, or acting funny. Acting funny helps me bring more ideas out of the trainers, the veterinarians, any of the people who've worked with animals, the cat's been acting funny. You better bring him in and they find out he ate all of the embroidery floss.
So if you're contemplating getting a Pip Decks, do it. You won't be disappointed.
From idea struggles to creative confidence
Beth discovered Storyteller Tactics when she was struggling to come up with fresh ideas for her video content. As a video creator working with veterinarians and pet care professionals, she needed reliable tools to structure compelling narratives that would hook her audience in the first few seconds.
The cards became her creative toolkit. She used them both for her own content and to help her clients develop better storytelling strategies. The hero and guide concept, in particular, helped her understand how to position her clients as the heroes of their own stories.
The pet care content challenge
Creating engaging content for veterinarians and pet care professionals requires more than just cute animal videos. Beth found that Storyteller Tactics provided the frameworks she needed to create content that connected emotionally with pet owners while educating them about important topics like veterinary mental health.
The cards helped her develop dozens of story ideas from single concepts, expanding her creative possibilities and helping her clients communicate more effectively with their audiences.
What made the difference
Beth's experience shows how Storyteller Tactics solves real problems for content creators. The cards provide instant access to proven storytelling frameworks, reducing creative block whilst maintaining quality. The hero and guide concept, in particular, helped her understand how to structure content that puts her audience first.
How Beth uses Storyteller Tactics in practice
Beth starts by choosing a story type that fits the brief—often man in a hole for behaviour change content (for example, puppy training setbacks and recovery). She uses a hook card to shape the first five seconds, then builds a short arc that balances information with empathy. On projects addressing veterinary mental health, she leans on Drive (Why) to ground the story in purpose, avoiding sensationalism whilst still creating urgency.
For clients who struggle to talk about themselves, Beth reframes the narrative with hero/guide: the client is the hero, their customer is the audience, and the brand acts as a guide. This switch unlocks clearer positioning and more relatable scripts.
